Taylor's Thoughts...
August 16, 2010
Taylor’s thoughts … Wow! What a great summer we have been having. We just finished our last mission trip and praise God for all that He has done. We ended up taking fifty-six adults and youth to the New Mexico Navajo reservation. I have personally been involved in over a dozen mission trips. However, the work at the Navajo Indian reservation was unique. The children seemed to have little or no understanding of our Christian faith. As a result, the “Gospel Dolls” that were made by the ladies of Hopewell Baptist Church were a valuable tool in telling these children about Jesus. I hope that we are able, in the future, to incorporate a tool like this in all of our mission work. I want to extend a special thanks to Bill & Karen Hicks and Marge Hollowell for their work in feeding us during this trip. We ask them to do the impossible. With the help of God and untiring devotion they did it. They were called on to feed fifty-six people in a kitchen that would be small in an apartment. Every meal got better and better. Thanks guys. Mission Banquet We will be sharing slides and testimonies of all of our mission trips on Tuesday, August 10. This meeting will be held at F B C Coleman. We will be having our regular Executive Board meeting and MMW meeting and then come together for our mission reports. I hope all of you can come and be a part of celebrating all that God has done for us. Annual Church Profiles It is time again for our ACP, (Annual Church Profiles.) These will be mailed to our churches during the month of August with the hope that we can begin receiving them back in September for our annual book of reports. Annual Meeting The date for our 2010 annual meeting is Sunday, October 31st. The meeting will be held at FBC Brady with Robert Barge and Jeff Gore leading in worship. If any of you would like to use Bro. Robert or bro. Jeff for revivals during this time they are available. They will be a blessing to any of our churches. Hispanic Song Books If any of you have Hispanic song books that are not being used we would like to collect them for the Hispanic church in Eagle Pass. If you have any available please contact Seventh Street Baptist Church in Ballinger or the associational office. In Christ, Barry
